AS DIRECTOR, SELECTED FILM INCLUDES: Martha Arthur (Sanzipants Productions, Tropfest Longlist – 2014);  Film Vic Key Talent Placement on The Blake Mysteries Channel 7/December Media/Gambit Media shadowing Ian Barry.

John works across main-stage and independent sectors in demand for Australian premieres of contemporary classics from the UK and USA. He has a particular passion for new Australian writing and adaptations of neglected European classics.

His most recent production, Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, a post apocalyptic play won the 2020 Green Room Award for Best Independent Production and was nominated for 5 others (including Best Director). Mr Burns sold out its first season before opening and the return season sold out within a week. John is currently on Film Victoria's Key Talent Register, working as Director’s Attachment on The Blake Mysteries for Channel 7/December Media/Gambit Media. He was part of the inaugural Melbourne Festival/Lincoln Centre Director’s Lab.

John is proud to have completed Intimacy on Set and Stage training with Ita O’Brien. John gained his MA (Advanced Theatre Practice) at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (RCSSD) and originally trained at NIDA.
